Full Day Trip to Ait Ben Haddou from Marrakech :

The day begins early as we will be leaving Marrakech before 8.00 am and our drive will then take us across the High Atlas Mountains. The rugged beauty and high peaks will have you glued to the window in our minibus as we snake through the mountain roads.
There are several small Berber villages along the route and we will get a chance to stop and take some photographs of the elevated scenery before making our way to the kasbah at Aït Ben Haddou enjoying the stunning scenery for another couple of hours until we reach our destination some 120 Km away from Marrakech. Aït Ben Haddou, a ‘fortified settlement’, or ksar, is located approximately 20 Km before Ouarzazate.

It is situated on a hill along the Ounila River and is known for its kasbahs. Most of the town’s inhabitants now live in a contemporary village on the other side of the river. However, ten families still live within the ksar. Aït Ben Haddou has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1987 and several major films have been shot there, including Gladiator and The Mummy.
The final stops on the tour are Kasbah Taourirt and Kasbah Tiffoultoute, the ancient residences of Glaoui (Old Pacha of Marrakech), in Ouarzazate, the gateway to the Sahara, which lies in a valley at the foot of the Atlas Mountains.
After visiting the Kasbah Taourirt and stopping for lunch (at own expenses) we head off to Ouarzazate (called also Hollywood of Morocco) where we  visit the Atlas Film Studios (at own expense) to see some of the sets that appeared in famous movies such as Gladiator, The Mummy and other hit movies. Afterwards, we had back to Marrakech where you will be dropped-off at your accommodation.
